About Mark Duehmig
Welcome! I guess this is where I tell you a little about myself and how I’ve come to make all these photos. Well, I've been taking photographs for over 30 years. My Mom was an artist and my father an engineer, so I grew up balancing technology and creativity in everything I did. This has allowed me to use my camera equipment in interesting ways - allowing me to make incredible images from all 50 States, over 40 countries, and across six continents. (Darn you Antartica!)
My cameras and I have traveled from the southern tip of Tierra del Fuego to the oceans off Alaska. My boots are colored by the sands of Australia, Egypt, Iraq and Cameroon. Whether climbing glaciers in Argentina or landing on an aircraft carrier in the Indian Ocean, I keep shooting. To me, taking photographs, getting that image, is a passion.
A lot of my images are full of bright color. And some have some serious cropping to make use of a wide, expansive image. Both of these characteristics lend themselves to Metal Prints. (I know those words shouldn’t be capitalized but I really like Metal Prints.) So if you are considering a print of one of my images (I am flattered and grateful) please consider getting a Metal Print to show off the sharpness of the image, and be free of matte and framing restrictions. Finally, if you do choose to get a Metal Print, if possible, point a bright light or lights on it to make the image glow!
I would LOVE to see where you chose to hang my image(s). If you have a moment, snap a photo and send it to me. I would be very grateful!
My family and I live in Maryland, on the Chesapeake Bay.
